Review - "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone"
"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" is one of eight fantasy films based on the novels written by J. K. Rowling. It was released in 2001 and it was directed by Chris Columbus. The stars of the film are Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.
The film tells us about an orphaned boy (Harry Potter) who was brought up by his non-magical aunt and uncle. But at the age of eleven, an half-giant informs him that he is a wizard and that his parents were murdered by an evil wizard. This wizard also attempted to kill Harry on the same night when he was only one year old. However, this killing curse mysteriously rebounded and reduced him to a weak and helpless form.
As a result of this, Harry became extremely famous in the wizard world and he began his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During the year, Harry and his friends became entangled in the mystery of the Philosopher's Stone which is being kept within the school.
The cast is excellent and the story is exciting. Moreover, the special effects are amazing. It is at the top of my list of good films with a 5-star-rating António Silva, 9.º D
