                                                                                          Elf on the shelf

Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk about the elf on the shelf. It's a tradition in the USA.

"Elf on the Shelf" is a Christmas tradition where Santa Claus sends elf scouts to keep an eye on all the children while he is busy getting things ready for Christmas.

When you buy an Elf on the Shelf, you get a Scout Elf and a storybook that explains the Elf to your child. The book describes who the elf is and why they are visiting his home.

In the story, the book also describes the Elf on the Shelf's rules, which your children must follow during the elf's visit.

Some people follow the book to the letter, while others do their own thing.

The Elf on the Shelf has three official rules that most families follow. The rules are :

  • Don't touch the elf or you will lose the magic of Christmas

  • Elves cannot speak, but they can hear.

  • Your family's elf must return to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

The tradition is meant to encourage good behavior during the holiday season as children believe that the elf is watching them.                                                                                                                                                                                Mariana Cardia, 9.º G                                                                                                                                     cortesia de envio de Constância Silva, docente de Inglês e colaboradora do CRESCER
